Bengali babe Sushmita Sen was born on November 19, 1975 in Andhra Pradesh, India. Sushmita is born to Bengali babu Shubeer Sen, a former Indian Air Force Wing Commander and Subhra Sen who has worked as a fashion artist and jewelery designer. Born in Andhra Pradesh, but Sushmita has lived in New Delhi. She attended school at Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute studying English, and had career plans in journalism.
Sushmita's ride to success started in 1994 when she entered the Miss India Pageant and went on to represent her nation and crowned Miss Universe. Followed her modeling assignments and her entry into Bollywood with Dastak where she playes herself and a victim of a stalker but didn't do well at the box office. It was David Dhawan's Biwi No. 1 that made a prominent difference in her acting career.
The stylish icon again made the difference when she adopted a girl, Renee, as a single mother in the year 2000.
